As host family for a Rotary exchange student, you assume the parental responsibilities for this young student from another country.  You provide shelter, guidance, counsel, and love and support to the child.  They have their own insurance and pocket money – your provide room and board.  Host families do not receive a monthly stipend.

Rotary Clubs are always looking for potential host families!  Hosting a student will enrich your family.

What is the responsibility of a host family?

To lovingly accept the exchange student as part of your family.  The student will be governed not only by the rules of the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, but also the rules of your household.  You are responsible for the safety of the exchange student the same as your own children.  The student is not required to have a room of his/her own.
